About the Project
This project seeks to expand the STEM program at Almeria Middle School to all grade levels (STEM for All). The funds allow for the purchase of more Lego Mindstorms robotics kits, Sphero SPRK+ robots, and 3-D printers. We would like to add more robotics course sections for more students to experience robotics and STEM as an elective class. Through integrated STEM activities and projects, students will learn across subjects and gain insight on the interdependence of the core subjects. Students will experience actively solving real-world problems, with an emphasis on solving student-determined problems in our school and community. They will also develop leadership skills and sharpen their personal strengths as they contribute towards group projects and challenges. Students will learn to become self-reliant and responsible while becoming 21st century thinkers who impact the community in positive ways.
