About the Project
The Gateway Program at R. M. Miano Elementary School has transformed the way our students and community see our school. Our goal is to positively change the perception of the role of education in our community by empowering students, parents and teachers in creating engaging and life changing experiences. Our award-winning garden program has achieved remarkable results. Our thirteen gardens not only increase engagement levels of students, but also beautify our campus and allow parents an avenue to volunteer and become active members of our learning community. Our grant proposal will continue to facilitate our progress and we hope to carry-on this student-centered program for years to come.
