About the Project

The goal of this project is to strengthen the Dr. Carreon Academy and Van Buren Elementary School communities by continuing to promote physical fitness and academic scholars. Our second goal is to partner with two additional Indio schools, Roosevelt Elementary and Kennedy Elementary. A few years ago, Hoover Elementary included Dr. Carreon Academy and Van Buren Elementary in their proposed grant, allowing our schools the opportunity to create and fortify a school culture of health and wellness. It is our intention to continue strengthening our own programs as we branch out to other schools in our community. One mile, one student, four schools at a time!
