About the Project

The Tech for Tomorrow’s Leaders project equips elementary students at a Title I school with essential digital tools and experiences to thrive in a tech-driven world. Students will develop critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills through hands-on projects like designing models, building websites, and showcasing their work in digital formats. This initiative promotes equity by giving all students access to future-ready technology, supports student voice and teamwork, engages families through tech fairs and workshops, and fosters community collaboration with local mentors. The program prepares students for academic and career success by integrating meaningful, tech-rich learning across all grade levels and subject areas.

Meet the Project Coordinator

Magdalene Mason

My name is Maggie Mason, and I currently serve as a third-grade teacher, but in addition to my teaching role, I take on several leadership responsibilities within my school community. I serve as the Student Council Co-Coordinator, lead multiple scholar clubs that meet during lunch and recess to foster relationship-building and scholar engagement, and coordinate two family night events: our annual Talent Show and Black History Month Showcase. The inspiration for my current project came from two powerful experiences. First, I attended a STEAM conference where I had the opportunity to connect with other educators who shared the innovative ways their schools were using maker spaces and second, while completing an administration program, I spent a great deal of time analyzing data sets. Both experiences highlighted the stark impact of limited resources on scholar outcomes, particularly in under-resourced schools like mine.
