About the Project

Children must become the “solutionaries” for environmental change. As solutionaries, they will create the wave of change through environmental education and sustainable practices. Families and teachers must help create these positive, sustainable practices. At Salt Creek Elementary, all classrooms will incorporate inquiry-based lessons to encourage students to become global stewards through personal lifestyle changes to positively impact the environment. Students will work cooperatively to create a variety of solutions to reduce waste at our school. With the water bottle refill station purchase, we will begin to make the necessary steps to reduce our plastic waste. In addition, this project provides recycle and compost bins, gardening tools, environmental education curriculum, and equipment to support inquiry-based lessons.
