About the Project

This project provides students at Central Middle School with the skill to understand how biology, chemistry, and physics combine to create a healthy ecosystem. Students will gain hands-on experience by sustaining a soft coral reef environment inside a saltwater tank. They will be responsible for maintaining the correct conditions for the organisms within the tank community to grow and thrive. Students will have opportunities to become involved with school activities, learn valuable lessons about how they are part of holistic community, and develop skills that will aid them in future community service projects, classroom experiences, and potential career pathways. The goal is to implement a leadership program that instructs students on application and interview processes, along with resume writing, letter of recommendation seeking and implementation.
