About the Project

Through enthusiastic encouragement from our students, we are creating a catering and hospitality program that would serve various events throughout the Los Banos Unified School District and our community. This project will support a collaboration between the Horticulture class, Agricultural Food Program and the Transitional Adult Program. Students will gain the skills and certifications needed to prepare ambiance, food and and provide catering services at different events throughout the district and in the local community. They will learn how to develop teamwork and communication skills in a diversified working environment. They will also learn how to plan and organize a catering order and deliver customer service skills that ensure the experience is positive for the customers. By extending services outside of the classroom and high school site, the students will increase their opportunities for networking with in the community. This will also increase their employment options and expose them to a greater range of possible interest and career pursuits.
