About the Project
The mission of the Cool Cat Community Space is to repurpose an under-utilized outdoor campus space at Daves Avenue Elementary School to provide students with a place for doing, being, learning and experiencing. This multi-functional space will create community building opportunities for the school, while reinforcing positive strength-based character traits and ecological awareness. The project reinforces the school theme of being Peaceful, Aware, Wise, and Safe (PAWS). Students will use the community space in a variety of ways, including creating interactive sculptures and a mindful path, which will build sensory awareness, as well as academic, personal and life skills.
