About the Project
The Empowerment Through Political Literacy project prepares Montgomery Adult School’s students enrolled in the High School Equivalency and Citizenship classes to influence policy at the local level. Through visits to City Council meetings, as well as with their local representatives, students will experience how government works firsthand. These students will use the information learned in the classroom as a springboard to effectively advocate for themselves and their community. This student-centered project is future oriented and, most importantly, it is results oriented.
